2nd
A superb 404-yard par 4, the 2nd rewards precision and smart course management. A well-positioned tee shot, favouring the right-hand side of the fairway, opens up the ideal angle into the green—but be careful not to hit through the fairway, as water awaits those who get too aggressive. For most golfers, a controlled 3-wood from the tee is the perfect choice.
From there, you'll face an approach to a raised green that slopes gently from right to left. Aim just right of the flag and let the natural contours guide your ball towards the hole for your best chance of setting up a birdie putt.
10th
Welcome to the toughest test at Pine Ridge. Measuring 408 yards, this demanding par 4 is widely regarded as the course's most challenging hole—and with golfers watching from the clubhouse terrace, there's often a little extra pressure to perform.
A controlled 3-wood from the tee is the smart option, with a line favouring the right-hand side to avoid the large overhanging tree. Your approach requires confidence and precision, as anything too long can leave a difficult recovery from the steep drop behind the green. Add the prevailing headwind into the mix, and you'll quickly see why par here always feels like a great score.
17th
Don't let the yardage fool you. At just 132 yards, the 17th is a deceptively tricky par 3 that has caught out many golfers on the way home. While it's only a short iron or pitching wedge to the green, this hole demands complete focus.
A well-struck tee shot will leave you with an excellent birdie opportunity, but any lapse in concentration can quickly lead to trouble. The green slopes from back to front, making recovery from a missed green far from straightforward. Stay composed, pick your target carefully, and you'll give yourself every chance of finishing your round strongly.
